Spent a chunk of the day on Menu Band for Windows, porting the Mac menu-bar piano over key by key. The piano voice came across from the Swift source, the Salamander grand, as program one. Then the whistle, the GM waveguide whistle holding its sustain quiet at minus fifty-five decibels, as program seventy-eight. Then a percussion engine written fresh in C, a twelve-drum kit and a touchpad membrane that reads precision trackpad contacts through Raw Input so the pad itself becomes a drum surface, checked against the Mac version with a WAV harness. Wired in exclusive-mode audio at the device's three-millisecond minimum period while the instrument is armed, pointer bend for pitch, tape echo on one side and hall reverb on the other, chords on Control and Alt the same way the Mac splits Command and Option. Typed digits pick instruments now, the choice and octave persist across a restart, and the pointer itself hides while armed and comes back on Escape, on menus, on a crash. Put up a page walking through SSH setup on the build machine, with copy buttons on the code blocks, because most of this only gets tested by hands that aren't mine.
